Steamboat Springs Virtual Town Model

Steamboat Springs, one of Colorado’s premier mountain resorts, desired to improve its design review process–to make it more efficient, to better enable city officials and the public to truly understand what was being proposed, and to bring about greater harmony and consistent character. The city asked Winston Associates to create a tool for evaluating proposed projects in a constantly changing environment.

Summit at Brianhead

Nestled in the ski resort town of Brianhead, Utah is the The Summit, a high-end mixed-use development with ski in/out access was designed, reviewed, and marketed in a streamlined 3D charrette process. A “fly-through” model and a self-directed model was created to allow potential buyers and the developer maximum flexibility in exploring the property.

ArraBelle Hotel and Lions-head Core Design Guidelines – Vail, Colorado

The Lions-head area has long been a key element of the success in Vail by serving as a portal to its renowned skiing. It was no great surprise when redevelopment was proposed of the aged core area in Lions-head. Like the buildings, the design-guidelines were out of date and did not allow for the type of redevelopment that Vail needed or the developer wanted. Vail having long relied on Winston Associates to provide outside design review services was asked to help move the redevelopment and design-guidelines towards the same goal of bettering Vail.
